How cool to see.

I remember being about ten or so, watching the tractor race, it was thrown every year by our church. That year my dad won and was stoked, I think he still has the medal.

At the club rep meeting back in May, I sat next to a guy who told me that his son was coming home on leave to drive a tractor across. Later in the meeting, they announced that he (the son) would be the second tractor to cross the bridge this year. I made sure to get a couple of pictures, and I've been told that they made their way back to both father and son.
Good choice of tractor, too, if I may say...

What are those coat things those people are wearing? I can't walk my 50ft drive during the day without breaking a sweat here still. ?

It was 43 degrees on land, and probably high 20's on the bridge over the water.

This guy in the first picture ran out of gas right in front of me. His buddies and the Mackinac Bridge Authority assisted in getting him refilled and on his way. I was trying to shoot around them in the next couple of sets of pictures.

By the way, this is why you have a tow strap on your tractor. Breakdowns happen. But they're normally not because you ran out of fuel.

Help arrives. A tank of gas.

I pissed off the guy on the right (the crew chief from what I gather) because I wanted him to move out of the way so I could take more pictures of the tractors coming through. I know it's hard for all of you to believe I would get on someone's nerves.

I like that the odd one was still original paint. I'm one of those people that likes keeping things original. The main reason is it annoys the concours lot!

Some years ago I took the oldest bike in the fleet to the marque do. It was the worst there!

Vive la scruffiness!

I mean, why not? If you're going to fly a flag off the back of your tractor, make the pole big. Size matters, right?

I cringe when I see models from the 60s and 70's. I always think of tractors from the 30's through the 50's as being 'old.' However, some clubs allow 'newer' models in theirs.
