This morning the police, investigating themselves, informed me that they acted 'proportionately' at the women's vigil at Clapham Common.

Further Ten Downing street informed me that this country is a model of racial equality and should be taken as an exemplar by other white majority countries.

I was reminded of,
“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

Paul Joseph Goebbels, 29 October 1897 – 1 May 1945, was a German politician and Minister for Propaganda in Nazi Germany from 1933 to 1945. He was one of Adolf Hitler’s closest associates and most devoted followers. To my mind, nothing describes the essence of the Piscean Age better than the following Goebbels quote: ‘If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, as the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.’

Having been born on the 29[SUP]th[/SUP] October, Goebbels during that particular lifetime was a double Scorpio. All those born on the twenty-ninth day of any month are under the rulership of this sign. The life’s work and ‘achievement’ of Goebbels as an incarnation of evil presents us with one of the finest descriptions of the lowest evolutionary stage of Scorpio’s development. During lifetimes in this sign it is potentially possible for every soul to reach three different levels of consciousness. Each one carries its own symbolism.

First in line is the scorpion, the insect with the deadly sting in its tail. It does not take the human version long to discover that it has a tongue that can sting others and hit them where it really hurts. This gives them a feeling as if they had some kind of power over others. Ah yes, the power to hurt and destroy. This is the Universe’s way of teaching us the destructive power of Mars. Every soul born into Scorpio is presented with many opportunities for learning from its own experiences of how, when obstacles get in the way of its over-strong will, it is capable of lashing out and angrily destroying in seconds, through a word or a gesture – careless hurled at someone or carefully planned – what may have taken many lifetimes to build. This goes for personal relationships as much as for national and international ones.

That is how, as life progresses, the soul in Scorpio may enjoy hurting and stinging so much that it ever more frequently indulges in it for the sheer pleasure of it. Unbeknown to the earthly self, the ideas for its most successful stinging actions have their origin on the subconscious level, from where the Highest Self is prompting its small earthly counterpart soul is promptinto bring this early evolutionary phase to its natural conclusion. Only when the scorpion has destroyed itself is the earthly self allowed to move on to its next lessons, the exploration of the second level. And so the human scorpion eventually stings itself to death and its Highest Self takes it through the transformation onto the second level.

The above might help you to get a better understanding of the pathway Bill Gates is walking in his present lifetime. He is a Sun Scorpio and his Moon is in Aries. This is the sign in which more highly evolved people can develop into pathfinders and waymakers that others may wish to follow.

The UK government is placing proposed permanent legislation in front of Parliament that will make it harder to stage peaceful demonstrations - at a time when temporary anti-covid rules prevent peaceful demonstrations. So you can't have a peaceful demonstration to protest against a law that could outlaw peaceful demonstrations.
No wonder we don't have guns in this country.

Welcome to 1984

I have to admit that I have heard about George Orwell's book about the year 1984, but never read it. It's not the kind of reading I have ever enjoyed. That's why I looked up what Wikipedia has to say about it:

In the year 1984, civilization has been damaged by world war, civil conflict, and revolution. Airstrip One (formerly known as Great Britain) is a province of Oceania, one of the three totalitarian super-states that rule the world. It is ruled by the "Party" under the ideology of "Ingsoc" (a Newspeak shortening of "English Socialism") and the mysterious leader Big Brother, who has an intense cult of personality. The Party brutally purges out anyone who does not fully conform to their regime using the Thought Police and constant surveillance through Telescreens (two-way televisions), cameras, and hidden microphones. Those who fall out of favour with the Party become "unpersons", disappearing with all evidence of their existence destroyed. In London, Winston Smith is a member of the Outer Party, working at the Ministry of Truth, where he rewrites historical records to conform to the state's ever-changing version of history. Winston revises past editions of The Times, while the original documents are destroyed after being dropped into ducts leading to the memory hole. He secretly opposes the Party's rule and dreams of rebellion, despite knowing that he is already a "thoughtcriminal" and likely to be caught one day.

While in a proletariat (prole) neighbourhood, he meets Mr. Charrington, the owner of an antiques shop, and buys a diary where he writes thoughts criticising the Party and Big Brother, and also writes that "if there is hope, it lies in the proles". To his dismay, when he visits a prole quarter he discovers they have no political consciousness. An old man he talks to there has no significant memory of life before the Revolution. As he works in the Ministry of Truth, he observes Julia, a young woman maintaining the novel-writing machines at the ministry, whom Winston suspects of being a spy against him, and develops an intense hatred of her. He vaguely suspects that his superior, an Inner Party official O'Brien, is part of an enigmatic underground resistance movement known as the Brotherhood, formed by Big Brother's reviled political rival Emmanuel Goldstein. In a lunch conversation with his co-worker Syme, who is assisting in developing a revised version of Newspeak (a controlled language of limited vocabulary), Syme bluntly reveals the true purpose of Newspeak: to reduce the capacity of human thought. Winston reflects that Syme will disappear as he is "too intelligent" and therefore dangerous to the Party. Winston also discusses preparations for Hate Week with his neighbour and colleague Parsons.

One day, Julia secretly hands Winston a note saying she loves him, and the two begin a torrid affair; an act of rebellion as the Party insists that sex is only for reproduction. Julia shares Winston's loathing of the Party, but he realizes that she is politically apathetic and uninterested in overthrowing the regime, thinking it impossible. Initially meeting in the country, they later meet in a rented room above Mr. Charrington's shop. During his affair with Julia, Winston remembers the disappearance of his family during the civil war of the 1950s and his tense relationship with his wife Katharine, from whom he is separated (divorce is not permitted by the Party). He also notices the disappearance of Syme during one of his working days. Weeks later, Winston is approached by O'Brien, who invites Winston over to his flat, which is noted as being of far higher quality than Winston's. O'Brien introduces himself as a member of the Brotherhood and sends Winston a copy of The Theory and Practice of Oligarchical Collectivism by Goldstein. Meanwhile, during the nation's Hate Week, Oceania's enemy suddenly changes from Eurasia to Eastasia, with no-one seemingly noticing the shift. Winston is recalled to the Ministry to help make the major necessary revisions of the records. Afterwards Winston and Julia read parts of the book, which explains more about how the Party maintains power, the true meanings of its slogans, and the concept of perpetual war. It argues that the Party can be overthrown if proles rise up against it. However, to Winston, it does not answer 'why' the Party is motivated to maintain power.

Winston and Julia are captured and imprisoned when Mr. Charrington is revealed to be a Thought Police agent. At the Ministry of Love, Winston briefly interacts with colleagues who have been arrested for other offences. O'Brien arrives, revealing himself as a Thought Police agent, who tells Winston that the Brotherhood does not exist and Emmanuel Goldstein's book was written collaboratively by O'Brien and the Party themselves as part of a special sting operation to catch thought-criminals. Over several months, Winston is starved and tortured to "cure" himself of his "insanity" by changing his own perception to fit in line with the Party. O'Brien reveals to Winston that the Party "seeks power for its own sake." When he taunts Winston by asking him if there is any humiliation which he has not yet been made to suffer, Winston points out that the Party has not managed to make him betray Julia, even after he accepted the party's invincibility and its principles. Winston accepts internally that he really means he has not rescinded his feelings toward Julia; he betrays her by revealing her crimes many times. He fantasizes that moments before his execution his heretic side will emerge, which, as long as he is killed while unrepentant, will be his great victory over the Party.

O'Brien takes Winston to Room 101 for the final stage of re-education, which contains each prisoner's worst fear, indicating that the level of surveillance on the public is far more thorough than initially believed by Winston. Confronted with a wire cage holding frenzied rats, his biggest fear, in his face, Winston willingly betrays Julia by wishing the suffering upon her instead. Winston is released back into public life and continues to frequent the Chestnut Tree Café. One day, Winston encounters Julia, who was also tortured. Both reveal that they have betrayed the other and no longer possess feelings for one other. Back in the café, a news alert sounds and celebrates Oceania's supposed massive victory over Eurasian armies in Africa. Winston finally accepts that he loves Big Brother.

Because the Zeitgeist of the Aquarian age is rebellion and revolution, I do not believe that it will ever come to this in our world!

George wrote this book in 1948. It was a riff on the way the world was at the time. While I agree with you that a lot of this will not come to pass, the changes in tech have managed to create a way for our beloved leaders to make us control ourselves. We no longer have slavers with whips, we have landlords threatening evictions. The real thing taken from the book is the end of honesty and the revision of history.

The book is surprisingly easy to read. It also generates a lot of re-examining what we think we know.

I found Orwell's 1984 really depressing - but a good read nonetheless. It says a lot about our society, people reporting their neighbors, children informing on their parents. For me, Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 was a better read, not as dark but still made me think... and the opening paragraphs... oh my... they still take my breath away... possibly the best opening of a story that I've ever read.

I recently read 'The Circle' by Dave Eggers. I couldn't tell if the author was promoting an absolute loss of privacy or warning against technological invasion of our lives... which I found upsetting. It also spoke to the misconception that the USA was intended to be a democracy in its purest sense. Obviously it wasn't, we're a constitutional republic. Plato warned about democracy by referring to it as mob rule and rated it just above anarchy, and Thomas Jefferson said it was a system where 51% of the people could remove the rights of the other 49%. <sigh> Sorry for the rant.

Extra, Extra. Policeman convicted of being member of banned neo-nazi terrorist group. Police force took two years to notice. Nazi propaganda and child pornography found in his home.

One wonders what next?

I've had a few unpleasant encounters with the police; they're definitely not saints. Although my view is unpopular, I see them as a street gang with the court system behind them.

From the Guardian,

"Leading academics cited in the government’s controversial racial disparity report say they were not properly consulted, and claim that they were never tasked to produce research specifically for the commission."

Apparently you can make it up !

Actually, having read the whole article I'm putting in a link,
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...report-claim-they-were-not-properly-consulted

This is more than a bit of an error, people seem to have been invited under false pretenses, and selectively quoted and mis -quoted as well as being falsely listed as stakeholders. As one of them says, they started with a premise and then went looking for evidence to fit it, ignoring anything that didn't fit in with their preconceptions. They seem to say it is the minorities fault that they are in bad housing doing shit jobs and dying of covid disproportionately, if they would only try harder they could advance themselves, there's nothing stopping them. Why is it I feel this is total bull-shit?

I believe that things of this nature are due to the fact that too many in our world are still unaware of their true nature, the wise higher purpose of their earthly existence and that life in the whole of Creation, therefore also in our world, is ruled by the Universal laws of cause and effect or Karma. It decrees that everything must return to its source. But the truth about these things cannot be hidden forever. Bringing them out into the open, for all to see, that's the purpose of our world's present situation.

Hey! Are you guys trying to copy what's going on here in the USA? If I were someone that believed in conspiracy theories, I'd be hiding under my desk.

What puzzles me more than anything else is that so many are allowing themselves to be led by their noses, like sheep to the slaughter. The Zeitgeist of the Aquarian age, and we are moving ever deeper into it, is rebellion and revolution. Not many signs of that by now. WHY? How long will it take until the bubble finally bursts and reveals the truth about our world's present situation?

The first victim in any war is the truth.

And we are in a war. When one woman, a CEO of a gambling company, can earn in an hour more than I can in two years you know there is something very wrong. When foodbanks are increasing. When the cost of the pandemic will be paid by the poorest of us and the richest have just increased their wealth by over a £trillion. This is a war of the rich against the poor. The rich own our newspapers. They own our land. They own our government. They make our laws. They perpetuate their role with elitist schools. By exclusive mentoring.

This bubble won't burst. They have had centuries to perfect their defences. Watch them cover themselves in the flag. To equate their privilege with our country. They give us false enemies to fear.

There is a strong resistance to them. I don't know if it will be enough. I do know this is going to get very ugly.
What puzzles me more than anything else is that so many are allowing themselves to be led by their noses, like sheep to the slaughter. The Zeitgeist of the Aquarian age, and we are moving ever deeper into it, is rebellion and revolution. Not many signs of that by now. WHY?
