I've been looking for a publisher for a manuscript I've written. A friend found one who replied with suggestions on possible changes to the story's description (as a potential inside cover description). There's one thing about the suggestions that I'm not sure how to take. The publisher said, "I don't think you need to state his powers unless you are appealing to the fantasy group only." The thing is, the book is similar to others like the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher, and the Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series by Laural K. Hamilton. Wouldn't it be somewhat misleading to try to target a wider audience?
