Looking for a story (1 Viewer)

Not quite sure if this is the correct forum but here goes...

I remember reading in one of my books a story that stuck with me, but I can't remember which one... So I was hoping some of you gents could help me out. The story was about a young girl who loved to dance and she was given an opportunity to dance infront of a famous instructor. She started dancing and 30 seconds into it he stops her and tells her that she is a terrible dancer. She takes off her shoes and runs off never to dance again.

20 years later or so she runs into the same man. There she asks him how he could tell she was such a bad dancer after only 30 seconds. He replies "I couldn't. But if you gave up after my one comment I knew you could never have become a great dancer."

Anyone have the full or original one?
