I was sitting in my room at midnight, trying to fall asleep... *shakes fist angrily* I had the whole plot worked out by 6am the next morning, when i still couldn't sleep...

Most Sincerely,

I wanted to make something absolutely insignificant look grand and emphasized, simply because that's how everything seems to be portrayed.
(My entire story shall be a ten second clip in which two men walk past each other on a street, and that's all.)

I have to echo Jaime. My life. Definitely enough weird shit in my life for a 50,000 word novel.

50,000 words about ten seconds? I definitely want to read that afterwards. If it were me trying that, I don't think I would make it past 500 words... if that... haha.

And as far as the "my own life" idea... I thought about doing that, but then I decided that I wanted more of a difficult topic. The one I chose is really... hmm, I don't think I can describe it. (But I think I managed to in the one sentence synopsis thread) I'm not saying that it wouldn't be difficult to write 50,000 words, but I'm the type of person that has to pick the most obscure type of things and try to make them work.

(My Signature is a humorous stab at myself in anticipation of how my NaNo story is going to go)

Most Sincerely,

JL Hartfield

Good luck...indeed, good luck...

I just thought it through. I sat down and went over things that interested me, things I wanted to see in a story, and what I already knew about. I came up with a story about two men who find a document written in an unkown language. They decipher it, then try to prove that it is true.

A song, Native American mythology, and Celtic mythology inspired mine.

The name of the song and the working title of my novel is "The Dreaming Blade." I love you if you know which artist wrote and recorded it.

Honestly, I have more important things to do than research the name of a band. :p Rhea's Obsession = Sue what's her name... Hutton or something? And that Jim Field guy... My sister listens to Rhea's Obsession, that's how I know.

Well, my NaNo novel is a pot pourri of ideas that stem from TV shows and movies that I like. Thus it'll have elements of Lost, Resident Evil, Dawn/Day/Land of the Dead, Damnation Alley, The Stand, and others of that ilk.

The reason? Why, that's easy -- I am writing it because I want to :)

Now the next step is for you to listen to Rhea's Obsession! Such good stuff... Too bad they're a one of a kind type duo and they've only put out two albums...

I've actually forgot where the biggest part of the idea for my story came from. I know part of it was an idea that the stars tell a story and then combined with the hidden codes in 'The DaVinci Code'. The rest of it was just pieced together a little here and there until it all came together.

What idea? I won't know until the first sentence spills from my brain onto the page tonight at midnight! I can't wait, it'll be like uncovering a fossil :)

My first scene came to me about 11pm on the 31st and that was it. I was off, I began and now the story is writing itself. Is slowly turning into a sci-fi paranormal horror story which isn't my style but you can't argue with the written word so I'll run with it.
It involves 3 children becoming something other than children, and how they deal with it. Short Dan Brown style chapters too.

I know I said everything came from my life, but I'm now putting in more people just to see how well they play together. *grin*
