Hello,

I am Lisa. I am not quite 23 (on the 12th!) and live in Calgary, AB. I found this forum while searching for writer's forums. I am attempting to write a novel with the help of a friend of mine. It is set in Ireland and in the Horse Racing world. I have only had two things published, both through school. The first was a short story when I was in grade 9 and the second was an article in my college newspaper. Though they are not "real" publishing (as in a book or actual public newspaper) I am quite proud of them :)

Anyways, thank you for allowing me to join your forum and I look forward to talking with other people who understand my obsession with writing!!!

Thank you both! I have posted some of my novel, so hopefully I can get some opinions on it :)

welcome to the forum.

are you Irish or just setting it there? The forums pretty much built out of Irish, Aussies, and a few Americans so you'd be pretty much at home.

I am Canadian by birth and Scottish by heritage. I have a slight bit of Irish, English and French thrown in, but the majority is scottish. I decided to set it there because Ireland has a lot of Thoroughbred racing and breeding.

Hi there, Lisa, and welcome to the forum. Looks like an interesting piece you want to write. Guess you'll have to do a lot a research to find out everything about bloodlines, races, etc.

That's why I wrote what I did: I know a lot about racing, it's my passion, even though I am not in the business. I've been doing "research" my whole life almost about racing.
