Well, here on the East Coast there are only 18 hours to go.

I envy the time zones ahead of mine as they have less time to bite their nails :)

I am almost ready, I think, maybe? I have several bare-bones characters. They have names and gender and ... that's it. I have an even barer-bones plot.

I have no beginning and no ending, with barely a middle to hold the non-existent parts together but, Hell, it's only 50,000 words, right? Yeah, right ... ONLY!

<sigh>

12 hours here in Italy.

I really need to think of a name for my main character. Hmmm...

I do have a first sentence that I have managed to hold in my head for 2 days now. It's absolutely awful. But I love it regardless.

Rico, call your character Ben. It's a cool name.

I'm out on the east coast as well, in good ol' boring NY. Anyway, I'm surprised on how many of you don't vae yur characts worked out! I do. I'm just missing a name for on of them and last names for all. I have a loose plot line and I know how I want to end it. I hve some details worked away locked up in my mind, so I'd say I'm pretty ready now. I even have a might-be title for it. Now writing it will be something entirel different. I don't want a milllion words per chapter like I'm nown for doing this time. I have a feeling though, that I'm going to do more than 50k in words once this is done. It being on deadline is entirely different though.

12 1/4 hours to go ... characters developed-kinda ... plot is changing by the minute. It bears little resemblence to the original I WAS going to write. Still, as long as I can edit it in December I may actually be able to make it work :) December id the time for the beginning and end. Novembers 50,000 words is the middle LOL

I actually can't wait now, is 7 hours to go in blighty woohoo!
The first sentence is all important to me as it will set the whole essence of my novel so fingers crossed I'm feeling inspired at midnight :)

Here on the west coast still have a ton of time. I still have to make it through Halloween. I don't have a name for my character, barely any plot. All I've done is research chocolate. At least research is my excuse.

AT MIDNIGHT? You're insane. I'm starting mine after school tomorrow at the library. Ah, the sadness of not having a computer of your own at NaNo time.

No Pc? Blimey, you're the insane one lol . That must make a hard task even harder surely, although my pc is an antique so not exactly pleasant to use daily.

Ready.

Have trick-or-treating-and-sugar-induced-child-hyperness to make it through first, and setting up my writing area. Oh, and tormenting Selorian about his lack of ability to keep up with me, of course.

I start at midnight. Damien, if you're on, I'll count down 'til the last 60 secs with you again this year.

With 3500 words now down and under my belt, and achingly sore fingers, I shall take a break of an hour or two and then return.

As much as I would love to start at midnight, a 5 am wake-up for hockey practice demands that I go to sleep early.... Ah well. Tuesday afternoon it is.
