Merciless Medic - A Motivated Writer (Kind Of)

Yes, I am new here. If that wasn't obvious enough. I am not exactly the most well versed in the English language and I would love criticism on how to write my native tongue better (why does it have to be the hardest language? At least it isn't Mandarin).

I am working to become a transcriber soon, and I roleplay on some sites (like Pokemon-related site and a more general site for an online web game). I have also been making fanfiction, but I want to dip my toes into more of my own works and less of others' (no matter how obssessed I get over them).

I fair better with spelling than I do with grammar, and some subjects and topics I have a good grasp of their concepts and how to make them work in a story. Like everyone else starting out in this business, I am but a fledgling and I will take what I can get in terms of constructive criticism. I feel like I would be known for odd plot points and I would love to get those kinks out.

Hey there and welcome! English is stupid but it's so much fun to play with anyways. Looking forward to seeing some of your stories -- we definitely have a good array of membership who can help with grammar!

    Welcome to the forums!

I fair better with spelling than I do with grammar,
    Me too. It's agonizing sometimes.

If only there were "plug ins" we could use in our brains to have all the components of good writing...

*yeah, yeah, I know...study, study, study.*

TL Murphy, I only speak and write English. XD I wish I could speak other languages though. I know a bit of German, but not enough to make a coherent, correct sentence.

Gumby, if only. That would be wonderful. I feel like learning what a prepositional phrase and all that jazz is almost a waste of time (I can't even remember any other names for the description of words XD). At least for me. Not sure how it makes me a good writer.

If we had "plug-is" that made us all good writers then no one would appreciate good writing and we would not have the marvelous experience of hanging out at Writing Forums.

Well, it would be good to have one that helps learn or memorize how grammar works, especially since English grammar is wackier than all hell.
