    Online Scam

This is the second one of these I've gotten this week. I am not concerned about it personally, because their "sextortion" accusation isn't true so it's obviously just something they're sending out en masse. But I could see this vicious threat being effective on some people so we reported it to the FBI, though I have no idea if they'll want to follow up on it or not. Has anyone else gotten anything like this? (I X'd out the password they mentioned. It was part of a password I used to use, though).

I am aware, XXXXXXXX, is your password.

I require your 100% attention for the coming Twenty-four hrs, or I may make sure you that you live out you live out of embarassment for the rest of your lifetime.

Hello, you don't know me. But I know all the things concerning you. Your fb contact list, phone contacts along with all the digital activity on your computer from past 164 days

And this includes, your masturbation video, which brings me to the primary motive why I 'm crafting this particular e-mail yo you.

Well the previous time you visited the porn material online sites, my spyware was triggered inside your personal computer which ended up shooting a lovely video of your self pleasure act by triggering your web camera.
(you got a unquestionably weird preference by the way lmao)

I have got the complete recording. If, perhaps you think I 'm playing around, simply reply proof and I will be forwarding the prrticular recording randomly to 7 people you know.

It could end up being your friend, co workers, boss, mother and father (I don't know! My system will randomly pick the contacts).

Will you be able to look into anyone's eyes again after it? I doubt it...

But, it doesn't have to be that path.

I would like to make you a 1 time, non negotiable offer.

Get USD 3000 in BTC and send it on the down below address:

    **1jWDkLQNi54217gwQCmSVDnJbWHoQ5**qyz
[case SENSITIVE, copy and paste it, and remove ** from it]

(If you do not understand how, look online how to buy BT. do not waste my precious time)

If you send out this 'donation' (let's call this that?). Right after that, I will vanish and never contact you again. I will erase everything I have about you. You may very well carry on living your regular day to day life with absolutely no stress.

You have got 1 day to do so. Your time will start as quickly you read through this mail. I have an unique program code that will notify me once you see this email so don't attempt to act smart.

So sorry... These people should have chains wrapped around their necks and dragged to death. They should have their eyes gouged out and their kneecaps beaten to dust with a sledgehammer. They should be beaten into a coma with golf clubs.... (I'll think of other punishments that are possibly more gruesome.)

    That's just plain sick.

What's worse, there are actually people out there who will find themselves snared by this...

Unbelievable. That's a pretty good payday for sending out a bunch of emails even if only one person falls for it.

I got the one from the IRS a couple of years ago now, a phone call saying that my husband was going to be arrested if I didn't pay 'the IRS' immediately. I actually started to panic before I thought, "Wait a minute, we just got our tax return. I think we're okay." So I laughed at the guy and hung up. I reported it but how can you catch these people? They're most likely not even in the same country you're in.

They're not. They tend to be from India. Why their government allows this sort of crap I have no idea.

India, Africa, Eastern Europe (including Russia), and China.

I had an eBay "seller" try to pull the Western Union scam on me one time. I think I got him to go check at the Western Union office eight times before he finally figured out I was just hassling him.

In that email, probably the only thing not spoofed is the method of payment, so replying to the email to prank the guy might not work, but I'd try. If the email DID return, I'd keep him busy for two weeks thinking he was going to get that money ... or as long as it took him to figure out what I'm up to. LOL

I have reported similar scams to both local fraud departments and the FBI before. Sadly, nothing happens. You have to have an actual victim pushing it before there is a chance they'll lift a finger. Once upon a time there were a couple of successful stings of the Nigerian scam. Pretty rare, though.

Hell, in this new day of "anything goes", the release of such a video might just catapult one into instant celebrity!

Even more disgusting than these bottom feeders are the scammers that prey on the elderly. That gets my blood boiling as fast as anything.
