Swamp of Ragendalia in the middle of the Desert of Karakan (Language, Mature Cont)

I would like to resurrect the RPG thread but I only know one way to do so... with a defibrillator.

    Rules:
Each person creates and controls just one character.
No one can kill anyone else’s character without permission (killing your character is ok).
RPGing is mainly for enjoyment and laughing so be always aware of this and keep it that way.
Site Rules still apply so don’t get the thread banned.
Word Limit per post is 500 words.
No dice/rule system used except imagination and these rules.

Open world type setting, Any creatures go but try to play along and explain/show with words so others can play along as well.

    Go:

Brenahan and Bellen had travelled from the farthest reaches of the world, across the sea of Thrutentass, over the desert of Karakan and deep into the swamp of Ragendalia and after many trials the two headed Ogre(s) had slaughtered the Dragon guarding the powerful Magical gem of Leranthi... the only problem was their boat had sunk, horses had starved, companions had all fallen and only one strip of dried meat and moldy bread remained.

Brenahan and Bellen, usually argumentative, sat in silence near the center of the swamp on top of the fallen dragon and weighed which direction they should head to return the gem of Leranthi to King Hollensworth...

Brenahan and Bellen sat for a while and as they watched the sun set and let their friends deaths settle on their souls and suddenly Bellen realized they were sitting atop thousands of tons of dragon meat and said “Brother, the last thing our friends would want is for us to starve after all we’ve been through so let us cut into this beast and feast on its flesh!”

“Brother do tell me your plan to cut past the scales that protected this beast for thousands of years?”

“Well I hadn’t quite thought that far ahead but every beast has a soft spot so we just need to find his and begin to gut him there.”

The Brothers hoped down from atop the carcass and slowly began to circle the great fallen beast. As they circled they passed the row of five graves Brenahan and Bellen had dug for their friends and they both could feel each other’s mood sink lower. As they reached the tail Bellen said “What goes in must come out and last time I checked our nether regions was pretty sensitive.”

Brenahan shrug his shoulder and said “Might work. Let’s try to move the tail.”

The Brothers grabbed as far around the tail as they could and tried to lift it but it neither moved nor budged. After three attempts they sat beside the tail gasping for air.

“Well I say we just move on... maybe we’ll shoot another swamp rat on our way out!” Brenahan said as he checked his holstered revolver that hung on his side.

”Alright, should we take any of our friends gear or weapons? Seems wrong to leave them here.”

“No we don’t need any extra weight. Does seem wrong just leaving this stuff laying around but if we are to make it back across the swamp we need to be light as we can be.”

“We’ll let’s get some rest then, we’ll leave at first light!” Belen said as they sat and leaned against the dragon carcass and slowly drifted to sleep.

Brenahan woke, as was his habit, before the sun peaked above the horizon and sat silently listening to Bellen snore. The Swamps nocturnal noises were clearly attempting to compete with Bellens sawing and Brenahan tried hard to separate out each frog, bird and crickets noise to make the time go faster. After awhile Brenahan grew restless and when their stomach began to grumble he cleared his throat loudly causing Bellen to stir from his slumber just as the sun peaked into the world once more.

”What’s the big deal Bren?” Bellen asked through a yawn.

”We need to eat and go!”

“So who gets the last bit of meat and who gets the bread?”

“I say we play a game of Boulder, Net and Sword to see who gets what.” Brenahan quipped as he moved his hand forward into the ready position.

“Ok, winner gets the meat and loser the mold” Bellen said as he moved his hand forward to match Brenahan. Bellen could remember many arguments arising from Bren and His brothers small contests to determine who got to eat what as they had travelled south. Their companions always argued that since Brenahan and Bellen only had one stomach it didn’t matter who got to eat what but Bellen and His brother just shrugged off their arguments and continued their competitions as they had done since youth.

“Boulder, Net, Sword, Shoot” Brenahan yelled as they each moved their hands up and down revealing that Bellens boulder shattered Brenahans sword. “You cheated!” Brenahan snapped untruthfully as he handed over the last of their meat.

Both ate silently as the sun continued to rise. When they had each finished their food the two gunslingers took one last look at the dragon, their companions graves and the pile of their abandoned equipment and headed back into the swamp in a northward direction.

After two days of northward travel Bellen and Brenahan gave up scanning and searching for creatures to shoot and eat. Nothing stirred above the filthy waters and neither brother had yet brought up trying to shot at the random movements that stirred, from time to time, beneath the muck.

“How much water do we have left?” Bellen asked.

”Not enough to spare another sip today brother.”

”By Bishibas tits who made you the water guardian?” Bellen snapped in annoyance.

“Do you want us to join our friends back there? If not then I’d push the subject no further and trust my judgement!”

The sun just started setting when Brenahan pointed to a spot in the distance and shouted “There it is, that is the high ground we camped at on the way towards the dragon.”

As they trudged there way carefully through the swamp towards there camping spot a bird chirped in the distance causing both brothers to freeze in there tracks and crane there necks around in search of the potential meal. The moment Brenahan spotted it he drew his pistol and pointed at the tiny speck and squeezed off one round. A feather flew off the bird as it plunged toward the murk... both Brenahan and Belen moved in practiced unison as the sped towards the potential meal. By time they made it to the spot they saw only the last set of water ripples hit the edge of the dark pool.

“Damn this whole forsaken place!” Bellen cursed as he spat toward the pool.

    ”Save your spit brother!”

”Oh now your my spit guardian too huh?”

“Let’s go.” Brenahan said as he ignored Bellens angst and pushed them once more towards the camping spot.

Neither brother said another word when they arrove and began unpacking their meger roll and blankets. The nocturnal insects, as if on que from the setting sun, began to serenade the brothers as they lay down and attempted to fall asleep in the crisp fall night.

After five days heading north Bellen convinced Brenahan to try drinking some of the brackish swamp water before they died of dehydration; within hours of consuming the murky water hallucinations set in and they passed out...

A fat rat screeched as it scurried near Brenahans hand, stirring him from his deep coma. The world spun as Brenahan senses tried to compensate to the darkness surrounding him and Bellen. After a brief moment of dizziness Brenahan reached over and meekly slapped Bellen to wake him.

“Whha, Huhh?” Bellen said as he stirred in the dark.

    ”Bellen wake up.”

    ”Bren? Where are we?”

Before either brother gained the strength to stand Brenahan reached to his side and found his holster empty and frantically began to feel around on the ground around them searching for his pistol as he said “I’m not sure, but Roxy is missing and it’s so dark I can’t see where we are.”

“What?” Bellen said as he felt his way down to his holster to discover that it was empty as well. “Ilsa is gone as well!”

Bellen and Brenahan pushed themselves up to their knees and as they began to stand both their heads hit the ceiling causing them to fall back down on their knees as they both wailed in reaction to the collision.

”Where the Fuck are we Bren?” Bellen asked as he regained his composure.

”My guess would be a prison or holding cell of some sort,” Brenahan said as he reached up with his hand and felt the short ceiling above them.

”You remember how we got here?” Bellen asked as he started to swing his arm as wide as he could to try to determine the dimension of the dark holding cell.

    ”No idea”

”Well it looks like we’ve reached the end brother... no allies left, no way to defend ourselves and we don’t even have our pack anymore with the gem of Leranthi so it turns out all was for nothing!” Bellen said as he wallowed in pity.

“We still have a few allies left Bellen, so try to not lose all hope. Conserve your energy and be ready...”
