    Welcome to Halloween city
Home of the great little scares.
And flying ghosts perching on broomsticks
And owls hooting at the night sky.
This is a time to be fearful of the Halloween night
Because it is only the time on the month where things
get spoooooky! And all is a fright of sorts when it is Halloween.
You may not survive its nightmare of sorts
But at least you will know that itís for real.
    Welcome to Halloween city
    Your in for a scarrreeeeeee!

This is the kind of poem that is so fun to write, because.... you can go to the extreme with imagery... you can unchain your creativity and give yourself permission to use your poetic license to the MAX! JMO but I feel you missed a wonderful chance to chill and thrill your readers... you TOLD me I should be scared... but you did not SHOW me...

come on! Scare me... I double dog dare youuuu...
She lost herself in the trees,
    among the ever-changing leaves.
She wept beneath the wild sky
as stars told stories of ancient times.
The flowers grew toward her light,
the river called her name at night.
She could not live an ordinary life,
with the mysteries of the universe
    hidden in her eyes....

love leaves a memory no one can steal....

I agree with Firemajic, Tiger. Yes, Halloween is fun but Halloween needs to be "felt" and "seen". Paint me a picture, help me feel scared and show me why. You said Halloween City was scary; for example , you could say something like, the sky, full of flying ghosts, and hooting owls with golden eyes light the trees... That sort of thing. Actually it's so much fun. Just let your hair down and see how you can express in ways that aren't telling but picture painting. Keep going, Tiger ( I'm hearing you roar) lol.
