Wow! What a great collection of stories this time around! This was a hard choice and a tough vote.
I threw a glance at humankind and saw them treacherous and feeble.
Severe judges, cruel, unkind and fools who are always close to evil.
Before their frightful, anxious mob, indifferent hate forever rages.
Not learnt the lessons from the ages!
What use are wise and tempered words?

I voted for the winning entry! Congrats bdcharles! "A World Gone Smart" was incredible and captivating all the way through! I felt like I was watching a new black mirror episode as I read it. Great work!

As I mentioned before, this was a difficult choice as all entries were very good.

I was very close to voting for "
The Squirrel Curse" by epimetheus, it was well written and interesting. If only it had a more interesting ending or a twist in the end, it may have swayed my vote. It was up against tough competition.

    I also enjoyed "
So Big!" by Ma'am. It reminded me of that "Little Britain" episode with "Bitty!"

"Goof" by BadHouses was also an interesting Sci Fi story, although the lines of dialogue with little exposition got me a bit lost a few times as I tried to figure out who was saying what to whom.

    Well done everyone!

Thanks everyone! This is much-needed good news today For those interested, this was prompted by a tweet I saw - can't remember whose, Jen Williams or Aliette de Bodard or someone - where she reported that she had seen someone who looked disarmingly like her on the bus, and describing this exact situation. I've had that weird feeling too; when you see a me-clone, it's never pleasant, so I replied to her, saying, "Did you hit Ctrl-V recently? Have you tried going to sleep and waking back up again". You know, really hilarious stuff. I figured the little man could be some hyper-generic tech support guy with a too-good-to-be-true name. And I'd been messing with some problematic unix processes at the time (if they crash or otherwise stop running, you "kill" them and start again) so I thought I'd pour my frustration with that into this and so yep, the story came from there.
