    The WF Media Team

Micropoetry is a genre of poetic verse which is characterized by its extreme brevity. In other words, a micropoem is a short poem.
Micropoetry is a collective term for a variety of different forms of short poetry. As a poetic artform, it doesn’t really have any rules. Although it does consists of certain forms of short poetry with fixed rules such as haiku, tanka, senryu and gogyohka.
There are also no real character length limitations either. The limits are set by the medium with which they are being shared, and also that invisible line where micropoetry becomes a regular length poem. This is why the majority of poems on this site are less than 260 characters, with a maximum of 160 characters (mobile phone limit).

    Between the Covers

    You penny dreadful thing,
    a five and dime dame.
    Whispering in my ear,
you still love to wear my ring.

    Wise trollop queen,
you still know how many licks
to make your king's heart sing.
"Illegitimi non carborundum " Vinegar' Joe Stilwell

"Faith is taking the first step, even when you don't see the whole staircase." Martin Luther King Jr.

What you learn in life is important, those you help learn, are more important.

"They can because they think they can."
    Virgil

"Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools will speak to say something." Plato

"The only difference between reality and fiction is that fiction needs to be credible."

    Valentine Memories

    blood roses

    a moonlit night
    on a windswept beach-
    moans kisses and
    stifled sobs of
    ecstasy

    Nature weeps, the devil sings
    at mans greed and pride
    and what it brings

    Just lots of useless
    little things

    His brown; hers blue
    They meet
a merest hint of a smile
    Connected souls
    From across a busy room

One I posted on the forum a couple of years back. I can't be bothered to look for it but it's short enough to remember:

    Cupid's arrows
    target hearts
    lovers quiver
