    Getting into the local bookstore?

I've been putting my attention into marketing e-books.

However, I like to keep a good relationship with my local brick and mortar bookstores. I want them to be able to get some product from print on demand, even though it's not where my main market is and I'm not able to push any large scale distribution of paper copies. I don't mind getting less per unit, since it would be more of a diplomatic matter so they can have me as a "local author".

They can't/won't work with Amazon, which is where KDP is. I don't use Select, so I can send it wherever. I am not sure what I need to do to make sure they can get hold of paper copies as needed so I can build that relationship with them better. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Often they'll take books on consignment.
