About

Rescue Press is an independent publisher of chaotic and investigative work, founded in the winter of 2009. We publish work by activists, artists, craftsmen, list-makers, philosophers, poets, scientists, writers, and creative thinkers of all kinds. We're interested in collections of artwork, comics, essays, experiments, how-tos, interrogations, manifestos, notes, poetry, stories, and anything else that transforms us.
Rescue Press presents the Black Box Poetry Prize, a contest for full-length collections of poetry, open to poets at any stage in their writing careers. Submissions will be accepted between June 1st and June 30th, 2018.To enter, attach your manuscript to an email (.pdf only, please) addressed to: rescuepressprize@gmail.com. A cover letter may be included in the body of the email if you would like to briefly introduce yourself or include any notes. Your name should not appear in the manuscript (including the title page); finalists are read blind by the judge. Simultaneous submissions are allowed but please notify the editors if your manuscript is accepted elsewhere. Students or close friends of the judge are ineligible.
Rescue Press supports an offer-what-you-will payment method; you are not required to pay a fee in order to enter the contest but donations are appreciated and go toward publishing the winning manuscript(s). Results of the Black Box Poetry Prize will be announced by Fall 2018 on our website and via email. Let us know if you have questions.
There is no entry fee but a donation would be appreciated.
