    NaPoWriMo is over

    The National Poetry Writing Month Challenge has finally finished! - Congratulations to all those who took part and our gratitude to Darren for running such a successful and fun event.

    Dave Watson wins a writing trophy

    Congratulations to WF member Dave Watson for winning first prize in his writing group's annual contest with his story 'A Tale of Love and Cabbage'. That home-made trophy cabinet finally paid off!

    Congratulations to H.Brown for her promotion to Global Moderator - and commiserations to Darren White on his change of role to moderator of the poetry threads - where angels fear to tread!

    Challenges and Contests

    Literary Manoeuvres is a monthly fiction challenge.
    Entrants have until the 19th to post a story using the given prompt -
    this month, 'Upset the Apple Cart'.
    The winner is decided by a panel of volunteer judges, with marks and feedback given on the basic elements of fiction.

    May Challenge is a monthly poetry challenge.
    Entrants have until the 15th to post a poem using the given prompt - this month, 'Entombment'.
    The winner is decided by a poll open to all members - if you enter, you must vote.

    Non-Fiction May The challenge this month is to write a memoir.
    The challenge closes on the 30th - with judges' marks deciding the winner.

    May PiP Challenge
    is a unique monthly challenge based on poetical improvement.
    After posting their poems, entrants receive feedback and revise their work accordingly, or not.
    A poll open to all members decides the most improved poem.

    Colours of Fiction tests the ability to continue or interpret a given short story.
    The challenge closes on the 30th when judges will decide the winner.

    is for the promotion of books published by Veterans, Staff and Friends of WF.
    Also promoted through WF's social media platforms.
    Authors may include any media device (images, videos etc) to present their work.

    Flashes of Brilliance is WF's online magazine. Where you can read the best fiction and poetry written by our members. Plus interviews, features and winning entries from the WF challenges.

    The WF Book Store can be found in Flashes of Brilliance, where all can browse the many and varied publications of Writing Forums members.

    Another great newsletter, with loads of interesting information.

    It's a good job that Darren isn't an angel and has no fear of the poetry boards.
