ISSUE PROMPT: WISDOMThe thematic prompts for Light’s Second Volume have grappled with introspective experiences familiar to artists: reflecting, musing, noticing neglect, and, last, our efforts’ ultimate payoff in wisdom.

For Issue 8, we invite works that suggest how we earn our epiphanies and grapple with what wisdom means. If you have discovered luminous transfiguration, tell us about what it’s like. If the result has been the depths of tragedy, explain. If you’ve found the truth is something no one ever told you about—something utterly unexpected and unprecedented—we wish to hear from you most of all. Please enlighten us.

Light - A Journal of Photography & Poetry is published quarterly. It is available as both an ePublication and a Print publication.

We select the best original work. Submitted photographs and poems cannot have been previously published in print or online. With your work, include a brief biographical statement. Be sure to provide URL's to your personal websites. While Lighttakes simultaneous submissions, contact us immediately if your work will be published first elsewhere so it can be removed from consideration. We can only consider poetry submissions written in the English language.
