In my latest book search for eco-fiction to read in the hospital, I ran across another book which caught my interest. Going to pick it up as an extra to see how well the arguments are supported. The author at least has some creds, so it shouldn’t be just another rant. The sideline that interests me is the negative effect on environmental progress we’re seeing, that will have a profound effect on the quality of life our children will have to endure.


Nancy K. MacLean (born August 22, 1959) is an American historian. She is the William H. Chafe Professor of History and Public Policy at Duke University. MacLean's research focusses on race, gender, labor history and social movements in 20th century U.S. history, with particular attention to the U.S. South.
