    You'll always have my heart

    YOU'LL ALWAYS HAVE MY HEART
JULY 22, 2011 WORDS AND MUSIC BY Awanita Aka JEFF KNOWLTON
    (Country ballad style C chord)

Well lying next to her, just watching her sleeping
By the smile on her face , I know what she's dreaming
But your a thousand miles away, and my mind starts wandering from the start
I just gave her my body, and she don't know you'll always have my heart

And it tears me up inside, not being with the one I love
I'm just a shell of a man,,,talking to the man above
Maybe someday you'll come back and we'll make a brand new start
And I can give you my body, cause you know you'll always have my heart

I fix her breakfast in the morning.....so I don't feel so guilty
Cause the feelings I have for her aren't the same as she has for me
She whispers in my ear the words that cause the teardrops to start
spoken(she wants to go back upstair for my body) she don't know you'll always have my heart

And it tears me up inside, not being with the one I love
I'm just a shell of a man,,,talking to the man above
Maybe someday you'll come back and we'll make a brand new start
And I can give you my body, cause you know you'll always have my heart

    Lead break.

I guess I ought to hop a south bound like they sing about in that Marshall Tucker song
I'd rather be leaving her....than to be leading her on.......
And when I tell her I'm leaving it will tear her world apart
I just can't give her my body, and she needs to know you'll alway have my heart.

And it tears me up inside, not being with the one I love
I'm just a shell of a man,,,talking to the man above
Maybe someday you'll come back and we'll make a brand new start
And I can give you my body, cause you know you'll always have my heart
I can give you my body girl, cause you know you've always had my heart.
    outro.

This I see is a song about a man that cannot get over his ex and wants to have a new start, even though he is in a new relationship, that is apparently breaking apart too at least in his mind. And this girl will be disappointed to hear that it is over a woman he is maybe not even in contact with. I'm a bit desensitized to the heart symbolism, but here it works with being paired with the body, about the divide between actions and true feelings.
