Back in the 90s there was a group of artists who got together weekly to show their latest creations. It was a pretty diverse group - painters, potters, sculptors, a gal who made acrylic masks, a guy who welded wrought iron figures and so forth. After a few months, they invited me to share my poetry. Well, I had already been humbled by their art. It was all physical, something you could see, touch. All I had were collections of words on paper. Challenged to do something more physical, I created a few visual poems like the one below. It still didn't come up their standards, but I sure felt more comfortable giving them something to look at instead of just hear...
