The Parasites Behind the Mask

The Parasites Behind the Mask will express daily thoughts throughout the year.

  1. Featured in WIFS

Since the latest launch of WIFS, I wanted to compile a blog post of WIFS which featured my content. It's a great way to see my progress, since I joined WF, as a writer and contributor to our diversified writing community. Thank you all for giving me these opportunities to grow.

  2. January 6, 2016 - July 6th, 2016. Half a Year, Just the Beginning.

On February 9th, I claimed this was a minor form of Obsessive Forum Contribution Disorder (OFCD). As RhythmOvPain mentioned, "You've done quite a bit in one month."

    [First Month Blog Entry]

Well, I've been doing a lot for the past six months. My personal life became brutal from deaths to busy work schedules. In my fourth month blog recap, I mentioned a few things. I said I would increase engagement in Writing Related: Writing Discussion. Well, I ...

  3. Behind the Scenes: Judging Style for Writing Challenges

    Good morning Writing Forums,

After judging 19 entries, mostly averaging 650 words, my latest LM critiques concluded with a 17,337 word count. I officially became the 38th recipient of the Star Judge 5. I judge both the CoF and LM on a monthly basis. If you have submitted something in the past, you might have caught a glimpse of how I critique. I am going to dive deeper behind the scenes ...

  4. Family. Work. Life. Us.

    Good Evening Writing Forums,

I am going to disclose a few recent events that have delayed my judging for the LM competition.

    • Retirement Party: Mother's 29 1/2 years of service as a Public Safety Communications Supervisor. This party was held with two other recent retirees. Two officers had over 30 years on duty.
    • Working roughly 30 to over 40 hours a week, including a graveyard shift and days off.
    • Top fundraiser for the Jimmy Fund at work
    • Conflicting family
  5. Free Hunter Osborn

The Red Mountain High School prank encouraged by fellow teammates lands senior football player, Hunter Osborn, 19, in jail for a memorable yearbook photo distributed to the local community.

An online petition, Free Hunter Osborn, ...
  6. I Touched Myself.

I randomly said this to someone today.

  7. 5th Month Summary and Writing Challenge Word Counts

    Good evening,

I joined WritingForums on January 6th, 2016. Today marks another month. I am going to document my latest discovery. When I finished critiquing the CoF challenge critiques, I couldn't help but notice the word count in my word processor (Novlr). I looked back to the previous challenges between CoF and LM since March. According to my stats, this is what I have discovered since the official judging initiated.

  8. Little Wood Thrush

After discovering a little Wood Thrush lying in the bushes, I couldn't help but mourn over the innocent bird's death. These birds sing beautifully. Here's a video!

    Geographical Perspective:

Imagine this, you can even have THRUSH MERCH!

  9. January 6, 2016. Time for Change.

I could feel my mind swelling with revolving thoughts. I am now going into my fourth month as a member here. Four months. Time flies! I have a lot of suggestions in mind. As a New Writers' Mentor, I have a lot of new goals to provide to our novice writing communities. Now that the forum is settling back down from all the exciting events in April, I am ready to buckle down with some personal changes.

    I am going to:

  10. Cancer is Wildfire

    Good evening,

In recent events, a family friend has passed this morning around 10:00 EST. I was at the hospital last night with my parents. We were able to see the two kids and her husband. They were in denial. I am still in denial. Our friend, the mother, recently visited our home a few times this year, and the last visit was a few weeks before the cancer spread throughout her body.

We have a feeling she knew a year ago. She knew to plan her time with her daughter. She ...
  11. NaPoWriMo Warm Up

Are you stressing over the upcoming NaPoWriMo? Are you feeling rusty? I am going to do a little warm up here. Feel free to watch.

I am going to allow my brain to flow.

I'll type what I think and feel.

Okay, now let's add some meat.

  12. Just Breathe

    To Whom It May Concern,

Life is rewarding the moment you wake up to see the morning sun. Whatever you do to help others, however you deliver it to them, give yourself credit. It doesn't have to be pride, but reassurance.

  13. Tuesday, March 13th, 2000. From Mr. Law

I was cleaning my attic today. Going through a lot of collected stuff over the years.

    I found a letter.

Tuesday, March 13th, 2000. From Mr. Law. 569-***.

Thank you Anthony for being so thoughtful as to have the East Hartford Police Department to check in on me to make sure I was not ill, or could have been lying on the floor maybe even dead.

Your parents should be proud of you. You are a very nice young man. Maybe you should put ...
  14. Comfort. Mentality. Latest Dreams. Jeopardized.

by , February 17th, 2016 at 01:50 AM (The Parasites Behind the Mask)
I've been working for a week straight without days off. I can't even keep my eyes open. I am literally typing this with my eyes closed. It seems like it's working just fine. I recently filled in for a night crew position from 11 PM to 7 AM. I also volunteered to load Peapod grocery delivery trucks from 4 AM to 9 AM, and stay for the remainder in a different part of the store until 12:30.

I finally crashed at 3:00 PM. My dream was bizarre. I was preaching something inspirational in ...
  15. I'm Sorry.

by , February 13th, 2016 at 11:59 PM (The Parasites Behind the Mask)
I worked seven hours straight today, illegally skipping over a 30 minute break, with one thing in mind. Writing Forums. Now, I don't even feel comfortable. Perhaps, I was too comfortable. After seeing how much I've done, I gave myself credit where my mouth was and blew off a lifetime offer last night. I even thought it was special. To mark my blog's anniversary. Just one thing for me. It wasn't enough. No, I am not enough. I am sorry I wasted your time. I am sorry I put everyone else before myself. ...

  16. Happy 1 Month Anniversary!

Well, that was quite the trip! On January 6th, I joined WF. It has been an entire month! I am very pleased to see what I've contributed and accomplished. I would like to make a special thanks to all our members supporting me along the way. A greatest shout out to all the Mentors for assisting me through the baby steps. A brighter spotlight needs to shine on the judges involved with the three attempts in three separate competitions this past month. One, in fact, resulted to a success. Thank you all ...
  17. The White Van Library [Objectionable Content Warning]

    Hey guys!

In celebration of my third week here (tomorrow) at WF, here's a place to sit back and enjoy the pros and cons of intentional or unintentional publications. Ready for a totally pointless procrastination thread that still relates to literature, publications, and literary discoveries? The White Van Library is at your service!

  18. Thoughts of Today, Tomorrow's Parasite

My body shakes and twitches. I chugged a glass of water like a nomad under the hot blazing sun of the Sahara. The snow has recently fallen overnight like confetti on a parade. There was nothing to celebrate last night. The deflated floats were useless. The lightly fallen snow adds a nice touch to the lawn. The sun is already beating the precious flakes down into the depths of the soil. That sounds awfully familiar. The unique presence is a temporary gloss for a Monday. Why would anyone sugarcoat ...

  20. Sealed Acquaintance (646/650)

Guys, I feel so nervous! Did I just ... what? Yes, I submitted an entry to another contest! Never have I ever been inspired to write a story from a song. You guys really challenged me! I would like to thank those who do read and critique my work. Yes, you, judges! I am ready to improve my writing for 2016. I am ready to pursue my first YA novel. Ugh, I can't believe I wrote this! You guys really inspired me! Thank you. I am ready to be open minded and take what you give me. I am ready to move on, ...

  21. Uncle Sam's Harvest (Free Verse)

This was submitted as my first Pip Challenge! I can feel so much warmth from my brain. It's as fresh as a homemade sheet of cookies from grandma's oven.

I am looking forward to hearing the critics! I am stoked to see the growth of my writing. Enjoy!

  22. January Challenge: "Fiery Glow"

    I am breaking through achievements.

First time trying the poetry challenge.
First time blogging a forum comment.
First time writing a genuine (not previously published online) poem on WF.
First time being inspired by anything for writing on WF.

    You get the gist.
    Or is it gist me?

Please provide feedback below. I am curious to see your thoughts on my writing.

  23. Love Me Blind

Trust me with eyes shut tight.
Your smile is the only thing open.
Feel my embrace against you tonight.
Lips occupied for words to be spoken.

A feather-like touch against your cheek,
The only way to hold your face.
Dilated pupils build up to the peak,
    Arousal requires a steady pace.

A woman is a caterpillar to a man with no desire,
She becomes a butterfly the minute he makes her perspire.

  24. Architectural Relationships

    Overwhelming mental congestion for perfection,
Socially influenced blueprints of future attraction.
Constructive criticism given by construction workers,
The labor of family and friends for reassurance.

A solid foundation of first impressions,
Structured walls of growth and development.
Insulation of natural feelings and experiences,
Ventilation to cool down the heated encounters.

Electrical wiring of an emotional and physical connection,
