Wednesday 15/04/20 - two swear words - mild pot reference

Wednesday 15/04/20

Its a gasping, guttering, tickering thing. Bleats rather than roars into life. Has no suspension. Its no thoroughbred, more a donkey on steroids. I cling on for dear life as we speed swerve, carelessly careen through the streets. I thank the devil there's f all traffic. Arse half hanging off I feel every bump - jump, jolt and lump. I thank the stars it can't go above sixty. Mankad is mental he drives like a loon, mounting the pavement, going wrong way round roundabouts. He does it on purpose to mess with me. We ride and ride, eventually through AG and Olton and into Solihull. I was terrified the whole way. All that to deliver a Birthday present. My Nephew is six.

My Sister's done well for herself. Solihull is like a different world. All wide, tree lined streets and perfect houses. Big houses (well compared with ours and there's six of us, well over double the size), makes me think about what I might have done under different circumstances. Ten years a slave and all that. He's six, in the past I've bought him loads of playmobile dragons but had to go for something different this time. His elder brother I take down Molineux. His parents aren't football inclined. It was my first and most important duty as an Uncle to make sure he's old gold. Get him before he makes friends with blues or Villa kids. To be fair its not like when I was a bairn. We're right good now. Kings of the Midlands.

I had a shock earlier today, worked out the blog had been read by more people than me and Dither. That it was easily accessible. A very kind penguin showed me how they are visible. I got right paranoid, (I had spent the morning in our lounge where several people were toking lots - second hand smoke and that) for I only wrote it for myself, to pass the time. I naively thought Dither must have read something of mine and clicked on my profile, seen I had a blog - for that's the only way I could see it being found.
Then I saw that it was massively monopolizing the board and etiquette alarm bells started ringing. I'm less worried now for I think I've figured out that us two included only ten people have looked at it. I think a couple of those are moderators ( I learned the colour code).

If anyone can help me - is it bad etiquette doing a daily diary? I'm clogging up the board and my blog isn't exactly, well I can see why some members wouldn't like it. I'm quite happy to can it. Any thoughts/advice would be most welcome.

Also are blogs visible to non members?

I've tried to do today a bit less, well a bit less like the others

Anyways apart from that today I have -
- gone over some old chess games
- read a fair amount on theory and certain tricky lines I sometimes play (with the season suspended I haven't been putting the work in of late)
- drew a picture
- tried to work out what I'm doing with this Gawain poem, I'm up to page 79 in the Armitage version. I don't really want to do the next bit with a fox, like in the poem, I think I might go for a lion. Then I need to work out what happens to the stable boy. I went back and edited it just now and the numbers of views of the two parts are quite similar so I'm hoping that's a good sign.
- Thought about starting writing a new book

All the best P

Aha, I've already worked out an answer to one of my questions. Are blogs visible to non members? The answer is yes but mine is not. Whoever the wise owl is that made that decision - I thank you, it is a great relief.

That depends on your settings, PG. You can configure the settings of your blog under settings, scroll down to Blog, then choose settings there. Make it visible to everyone or registered members or just your contacts. Up to you.
Mine is the most private setting - only my contacts and friends can see my blog. :) Not everyone likes that setting.

Solihull!!!! I remember it well. Spent 2 years living there, too. Before Birmingham. Upscale, no doubt, with all you've described. My goodness, your blog brought back some memories again! Damn.
