Life gets in the way

I started out the day doing some programming on the new system my partner sold, then had to put it away until he gets a few answers from the client on details I need to proceed. (I should have this in the poetry section).

Intent on finally getting to the Scrivener tutorial, I watched as our Samsung 4K TV gave every indication it's about to lose its main logic board. In three years, that's the second time this has happened, and really not after that many hours of operation. It was our bedroom TV and lightly used most of the time. We finally swapped it out with our LG 3D TV just a few weeks ago, and it already went bad ... again. This time it's not still under warranty. The bad news is I wasn't of a mind to pay for a repair that likely wouldn't last long again. The good news is that I got it at no charge from the Amazon Vine program, so at least I'm not out the cost of that TV.

I did, however, have to buy one now to replace it. I decided to go with another LG, since our other one is going on eight years with no problem. So I bought one online, and we drove almost an hour to the store for curbside pickup. By the time we got home, and I had to take the Samsung off the wall, move it out, bring in the LG, unpack it. get the brackets on the back, figure out how to hang a 65" set by myself (which I did), hook the home entertainment stuff back up in a new configuration, then do the TV set up and a new Fire TV Cube set up -- that pretty much blew the day. Then of course, we had to watch a couple of 4K things to check out the new picture.

It's late at night now, but things are quiet and I might get a bit done on the tutorial. This will be my third try today though! However, I actually did get most of the third magazine installment read of the novel I wrote the sequel to.

It is suprising how one task leads to another :) I used to think LG was made by Samsung ... just googled and apparently not. Both Korean companies but separate..apparently.What do you think of Scrivener?

I'm still not there yet. I need to finish the tutorial and catch up to what I did in yWriter. Once I do, I'll type up my thoughts in comparison in an upcoming blog.

One thing does concern me: my son told me that Scrivener was originally developed for Mac, and not all the features are there yet for the PC version. I have no more detail than that, though. I could break out a Mac, but with all my other work on PC, I'm not sure that would really be a good solution.
