Why Facts Don't Change Our Minds
Intelligent argument is the bedrock of effective critiques, indeed of literary criticism at large. So is the style with which the writer presents their ideas. I read a short article this morning that deals with these issues succinctly and 'intelligently'. Read it here: https://jamesclear.com/why-facts-dont-change-minds .

The article is not appropriate as a 'sticky'; besides, we rarely Discuss 'stickys'. This article should stimulate significant discussion. I don't agree with the author's argument in toto. You probably won't either. But the substance of the piece is at the core of what we do here. I've posted the article in Met 3 and Poetry and Lyrics as well.

A LOT to absorb there and very interesting. Worth reading over a few times, I especially appreciate the wrap-up as it goes to doing things that are never wrong.
