These are stunning! I am completely mesmerized.... I love the many layers in the rocks, and the play of light and dark.... nice work on capturing the contrast of the hard rocks and the fragile leaves resting on the rock.... loooveIT....

The last pic, stunning way to frame the delicate fall colors, this photo is frame worthy....

Thanks, Fire! Shooting inside the cave was a challenge. Thank heaven for the marvels of modern digital cameras, and post processing. I've been meaning to get back up to Maquoketa for a couple of years with my camera and it hadn't worked out until now. I'm glad I went even though my arthritic knees paid a price for it.

Thanks! This is the first place I ever did any spelunking back when I was in high school. There are a number of small crawl-ways branching off from the lighted cave in my photos as well as several other 'wild' caves in the park where my friends and I spent many hours scrabbling about with hard hats, coveralls, and carbide lights. This place is special to me.
