This is my latest piece which basically wrote itself as I was going along. These works have no title (e.g. "Dreamscape 1,2,3...) as I do not want one to influence the writer's visual travel(s)... It would be wonderful to read your own interpretive poem or story. In more ways than one, this would be helpful to me. Thank you! Laurie

I do like a challenge. Not sure if this even makes sense, coming out of my weird brain::grin:

Strawberry wine,
decanters of vitrol
light a fire of confusion,
wonderment;
hanging on by
silken threads
visited by broken spirits.

Do we think we know why?

Canker sores on
brittle lips
stain green,
purple is the color
unkown.

What do we know,
and where is truth?

My thought:

"Which woman threw their shoe at that old coot first?" Hmmmm.

Tony, I love this poem! And you wrote this beautifully weird gem so quickly!

Honestly, I cannot say which aspect of this hauntingly dreamy poem reaches me most but if absolutely pressed I will say: V1.
especially L 1.2

Where "is" the truth in dreams? For certain, it's somewhere.

Thank, you!

Well, it certainly looks like I, the dreamer, is ready to kick ass. But that menacing woman in red slowly walking down the veil staircase is you. You have full intention of picking up that nude statue on the floor and hurling it at the old coot. When you're finished we will share strawberries.

sas, you are hysterical!!!!

Here's my view, a day late:

There is lady in red
hangin' over my head,
kickin' off her shoes
so I won't snooze.

While strawberries dance
I quickly glance
toward the fireplace
spotting an ugly face
embraced in a frame
putting Buddha to shame.

Love it! I think he has a shoe fetish.

Alices' uncle is looking at me
I look away...he thinks I don't see
Hand on his breast...thoughts decantered by gin
A fire lit profile sweetly beneath him
Strawberry fields stilettos and yet
I am the girl and the woman in red

Nailed it! You've got a great interpretive mind. To add to the haunt of it all, the woman in red serves as the girl's doppelganger who could very well be the subject.

And I love the unique "strawberry fields stilettos" :strawberry:
