View Full Version : Update to da Rules.

Sadly, I am forced to spell out what should be obvious in a forum like ours, but since the shift towards more mature themes and discussions, some have tried to push the envelope too far. I must now expand on the rule about posting obscene material and gratuitous violence to specifically exclude from the forum any work or discussion that depicts or describes child sexual abuse:

Obscene Material and Gratuitous Violence: Such material is not allowed. What is considered overtly pornographic or otherwise obscene is decided by the staff and is not open to debate. It will be removed immediately. Any description or depiction of child sexual abuse is not only considered obscene, it is a reportable crime in many jurisdictions. Repeat offenders will be permanently banned.

Yes, it is a very serious issue which deserves to be dealt with seriously but also with conscious sensitivity. Way too many of us are survivors of such abuse.

There may be places on the net which allow fictional accounts or creative representations of child abuse. WritingForums.com is not one of them.

I agree. Such things do not belong here.

I totally get that.......

Anyone who would submit that sort of ugliness to a public forum has a lot more faith in Internet anonymity than I do.
