Most aspiring poets intuitively know that it's probably a good idea to read a lot of poetry. But finding the time or even remembering to do it is another matter. Here's an easy way to read at least one new poem a day; and that's a whole lot better than nothin.'

This is the blurb from poets.org, the website of the Academy of American Poets:

"Through Poem-a-Day, we present original, previously unpublished poems by our country’s most talented poets throughout the week and classic poems on the weekends."

Just enter your email address, and you'll get a little daily dose of poetry via email. I read mine with my first cup of coffee. Here's the link to sign up:

And poets.org is great resource for poetry in general; check out the "Browse Poems & Poets" while you're there:

"Browse biographies of more than five hundred poets, thousands of poems to read and share, essays about poetry, and some of the most important books, anthologies, and textbooks about the art form ever written."

Enjoy.

Thank you very much for the link! I signed up, and am excited to have new poems sent directly to me. I often do forget to indulge in poetry daily, so this will be a great thing for my inbox.
