I have been doing some preliminary planning and scouting for my book's cover and came across this website. This has been a great resource for me for ideas and composition, and some of the covers have the typeface listed.

That's really very interesting - thanks for sharing. You can search their archive by publisher or designer as well, and see how each has their own particular style.

Thanks for the reference. I do my own covers using canstockphoto.com; they have clip art too and three levels of sizing and resolution. Very inexpensive.

Thanks for sharing. Book cover design is so important and difficult for those of us who are not naturally 'design-inclined.' I have a professional designer do all our covers (I'm a publisher at an indie publishing house) because we have no one in-house who feels confident doing it; this will give me more examples to show our designer 'the look' we're aiming for.

Funnily enough, for the two books of my own I've published, I created the cover in Createspace. I'd just planned to mess around and get ideas; I ended up with covers I liked so much I kept them.
