The characters are all right - especially Wayne - and the dialogue and milieu are convincing - but it's rather slow-moving. Always start a story in the middle, they say. I think you could have started at about Scene 5, with Doug calling round and mentioning that there are an Afghan family looking for work and a house, Shirley mentioning that her daughter Nicola is back from Uni, etc.
