Thread: How to pick a genre for my novel?

I'm unsure how to pick a genre for my novel, and where to post it on here.

I've been saying it's a comedy/drama/romance... but that covers 3 genres. It's equally made up of the 3 genres??

Anyway idea's?

I could post the blurb or the first chapter or something, so you can see what I mean?

As for where to post bits of it for review here, don't get hung up on genre. Just take your best guess and post away. If it is an inappropriate place the moderators will move it at no cost .

Let the novel choose the genre. Write what you want to write - the words you weave should flow freely from your creative mind, and any vice that you put on them will only stifle their true power.

I started writing sci-fi, and it turned into fantasy. My mind wanted to go against my initial genre, and I allowed it, because a free mind is a creative one.

Hope your writing goes well, whatever genre it turns out as.

Write the novel and submit it to everyone. Whoever pays you money for it can then decide which genre it is.
