Need help with a musical related part of my book

    Hi all,

i am a 16 year old australian high school student who is working on a SciFi novel (called In the Shadow of a God) in my spare time. to give a brief run down of the setting/plot (the first is rather complicated, the second rather straight forward) it is set in SPACE, well more specifically a planet located in space which is taken over by a quite literally mind controling religious cult (based of christianity in the context of the universe), and the main character teams up with a motely group of resistance fighters to stop them, as he is allegedly supposed to change the course of history (because of his race/gender, its this whole thing) and is the only one who can stop it. also, theres magic and its a science. deal with it.

every so often i add in a song (from current day, in the universe current earth music is popular for some reason) which relates to whats happening and sometimes gives hints at whats going to happen. an example of this is foo fighters Long Road to Ruin.
my problem is finding a song for a part. i need one that is about fighting/or resisting, preferably talking about it ending in catastrophy, or at least failure. my current choice is Seven Nation Army, though im not all together happy with that one.

so i was wondering, could i get some help, all suggestions are welcome, though if i dont like the song it wont get in. and please, no techno/rap/dance/pretty much anything on the radio.

also, i apologise if this is in the wrong place.

    cheers, Gambit.

From a practical view, remember that you'd need to get copyright permission from the lyricists if you were to ever publish (or even self-publish) your book.

'Do you hear the people sing?' from the musical Les Miserables springs to mind.
