Id like to start a writing contest!

I was thinking of starting a writing contest for creative writing around 5 pages long. Can anybody give me any advice on what websites I can feature this contest on and how to go about setting it up? I think I would like to give away a cash prize of $200 to the winner. Thanks!

How do you intend to fund it?

I'd like to know more about this too because I'd love to participate.

Well the topic revolves around world domination, the new world order, and peace on planet earth. I am going to be funding this with my own means. I think it will be free to enter. I just need to figure out how to get it set up and the best way to reach potential writers with it. Thanks for any suggestions and any interested participants!

You could set up an email account for submissions and a blog for updates, instructions, feedback and contest information. Doesn't have to be big, just keep it simple.
As for reaching writers, forums like right here are fine, just ask the admins if it's okay to post an advert thread. Perhaps you could get some of the bigger literary sites to post a tad about it.
If you're funding it then I suppose that you might want to judge it yourself, but if you wanted a panel then you could ask around for volunteers with experience judging similar things, even if it's just casually like the WF competitions on these boards.

    Just my two cents.

I've got an idea for a writing contest -- let's see who can go the longest without writing anything.

It took me a few minutes to realise how clever that is.
