Thread: help on forging my halo!

I need help. My character in my story has to somehow forge a halo together, but i cant decide how she should do it...first i had her do missions in her world and she would be awarded a piece of it every time she completed a mission, but then i changed it to her being thrust back into several different time periods to complete the missions, and now i have it to where shes back in just one time period trying to find the pieces...i feel like there are other ways to forge the halo that aren't so typical but i just don't know what! any feedback would be muchhhh appreciated

Maybe your character won't know whether she has succeeded in her mission until a dull circular object just big enough to fit around her head shows up at her front door, wherever it is she's living. The circular object goes unnoticed by everyone because it's so plain looking. But she knows what it is, picks it up, and puts it away. Every time she finishes a task she gets another ring, which snaps on to the others. When your character finishes the seventh (or whatever) task, she snaps on the final ring and the whole thing glows and becomes a shiny halo.
