    Lightbulb The Freudian Slip

I am thinking of writing an article on the Freudian Slip but I need some direction on how to start?
    I need some ideas..
when was the last you have had to use the expression the Freudian Slip?
    and does it happen often?
    or more
    Why does it happen?
I am thinking of comparing it with or in parellel with a 'DejaVu' for contrast.

    Thank you.

    Some rough ideas:

#1: A psychiatrist in session with a middle-aged man begins to suspect him of past crimes after he lets slip one too many details during a recollection of his teenage life. Seemingly innocent and genuinely worried, the man agrees to undergo hypnosis. The psychiatrist is forced to make the choice between upholding their professional integrity and delving deeper into the man's past.

#2: A day in the life of a series of seemingly unconnected characters takes a turn for the worse when, so distracted by their own problems, their careless interactions with each other result in a series of misunderstandings, accidents and lies.

#3: A post-op transsexual attempts to make a new life in a new town, but finds ridding themselves of their old selves to be more difficult than they had thought.

thank you nath this is very helpful.
I have researched but it some rather incongruous at times.
the points or rather mispoint that stand out are:
    verbal
    memory
    mistake
    simple forgetting
    repressed forgetting
    unacceptable thoughts
    beliefs
    unconscious
lots of words there to work around with.

I am now looking to collect real examples of Freudian Slip.
and could dejavu has anyhting if at all remotely at all linked with the Freudian Slip?

I am not very clear on the three cases Felix.

    shouldn't the three cases link?
I am more inclined to work with case number three because it is one the subject that I find fascinating.
so how does number fits in with Freudian Slip or DejaVu?

I was thinkin a case number Four:
Is an experirement on four different lives
one that lives away from his family, for example working abroad.
another that lives and works around his family.
the third would be a parent divorced who lives away from his child/children
someone thinking of transsexual operation but not sure.

in any case I think all of us at some stage has had both Freudian Slip and DejaVu.
