HiI'm new!
I’m drawn to the Writing Discussion as a first step off of interest.
So when, where and even if such a combination should be used.
How about that, can I use ‘off of’ like that!
And should a sentence ever be ended with ‘that’.

Hi
What might not satisfy the purists in syntax may meet the needs of common speech.
Where would we be without a few pretentious words of slang and bad grammar!

When it's used in character dialog, if it suits the character.
See above -
also, when asking a question, you want the curly ? at the bottom right of your keyboard,
not the straight ! at the top left.
If the context allows, then certainly, you can do that.

Hi
My - And should a sentence ever be ended with ‘that’.- Wasn’t so much a question, but me making a statement.
The use of a Question (?) or an Exclamation (!) mark or simply a period (.) with sentences that appear to ask a question, but may be just making a statement is an interesting one. Is it just a matter of choice, a personal decision?
Punctuation
Parentheses or brackets square, ( ) [ ]
For extra information to declare,
Another mark is the exclamation, !
And one for if you ask a question, ?
Using a hyphen can be complex, -
Joining words within the syntax,
Not to be confused with the dash, --
For word groups linked in a rash,
The Ellipsis is for words missing, ...
Suggesting what you’re dismissing,
In dividing up your piece of prose,
With marks you must get to knows,
I so wish we did not have to bother,
Full stop, semi-colon, colon or comma, . ; : ,
Then quotation marks to enclose speech, ‘ ’ “ ”
Punctuation is a standard most fail to reach.

Hi
And should a sentence ever be ended with ‘that’ (?)(.) Question or Statement
Cran thanks for your candid replies. But there lies the subtle difference between Language Indoctrination and Education. For most of us we learn and apply a set of rules. It influences us to believe as fact, yet without being able to back it up with anything but opinion.
Isn’t the English language with all its beguiling idiosyncrasies intoxicating.

I don't care what your name is, you won't be getting any from me if you keep this up. You should meet Nacian.
hi this Nacian I think OX was just mentioning my name there.
here is an expression with
'off of'
being put off of something
example:
I am put off of French.
I am switching off of French.
or being put off of him/her.
yes you can end a sentenc with that.
I am done with that.
I am finished with that.
