Need an idea on a fictitious scene plz

    Hi there everyone,
I am writing fiction and I need suggestions please:
… the scene is where a romantic couple (who never really fights) is having a fiery blowout. I am looking for smth small that snowballs. Anyone with short, spicy ideas?

    Thanks,
    NextGen Writer.

A friend of mine got in an argument with his girlfriend while she was driving. The argument got so heated that he actually opened the door of the car and jumped out as the car was moving, to which the girlfriend freaked out.

He got injured, but only superficially, with bruises and scrapes. In his words, "it was worth it to get away from that b**ch."

That's a good one, but unfortunately my characters are in their living room

Money is cited as the number 1 reason that couples separate. Perhaps one of them comes into/ loses some money or the breadwinner loses their job/ the one who has been supported suddenly becomes the supporter.*

A neighbour 6 doors up divorced her husband because he could never call 5 No Trumps correctly. The cause final explosion usually has nothing to do with the argument, particularly when women are involved - The argument could, on the surface, be about not putting the wheelie bin out on a Thursday evening; it may then emerge that it was actually about being rude to her sister in 1994. It is often about too much sex/not enough sex (There is never the right amount, women will never tell you what you should do, only what you didn't do - The next time the situation is exactly the opposite)*.

Give us a few more details. A bunch of us could toss out details, but they might not be useable ("No, that wouldn't work—the lady's from France," or "Hmm, no thanks. The guy's left-handed. …") Give us more to work with.

Ok here are more details:The couple resides in NYC and both of them work at a local bank; been married for a few months now, I want to create a scene that starts from a minor hiccup to separation… is that enough?

OK, let's say that spouse A is very attractive, outgoing, and well liked. Spouse B is very intelligent, efficient, and intense. When not waiting on customers, B intently watches A, who treats the customers warmly—smiling broadly, remembering their names, etc. Later, at home, B accuses A of flirting with a particular customer and it's downhill from there.

I like patskywriter's idea. Perhaps they have also been vying for the same promotion, adding jealousy on two levels?
