    Question about a submission

I recently had a top tier agent ask to read my first 100 pages of my novel. So I sent it to him about two weeks ago. This weekend I decided to read the first three chapters again as I was always wrestling with them. As a result of this re-read I made some changes and caught, what I perceived to be, dumb mistakes. I think my changes make my novel, and the prospect of him picking me up, better. However, I do not want to come off unprofessional. My question to the Writer Forum world is should I send the agent reviewing my first hundred pages and updated e-mail with the changes or just let him read what he already has?

    Thanks so much,

    Dean

I wouldn't send any additional pages.

But I'm not the authority on Agent Queries. Unless you get a score for polite, form rejections. Then, I rank high.

If you sent him 3 chapters he will know it's still in draft for and will not be surprised - Rooting them out is what book editors are for.

I think this is tricky. I've never got as far as you have with an agent, so i don't know how the process at this stage works. Unfortunately, knowing how ruthless agents are, i doubt he's going to accept the changes you've made because the initial submission was what he asked for. If you do send the revised pages, he probably won't read any of it. He's probably just going assess the work based on what you initially sent.

With all that said, I hope it works out for you.
