    a couple things

I just had an idea about future stores to write about. novel or short story, im not sure yet.

    1. I was thinking about writing a story about a hearing impared women who's been forced into human trafficking or maybe she's young and she's forced to by a family whos in debt or someting, i really don't know yet. and tries to find a way to escape. I'm thinking its probably some sort of romance, since that's what I usually write about, but if you think it would be better as another genre please let me know. It may be happening in real life, but I'm afraid that it would give people ideas, so I'm wary of writing it. what do you think and do you think people would want to read a story like that? any thoughts?

    2. another is about a woman who's hearing impared and at the age of five she's been placed in a home of some sort for people with disabilities. some people it's nesseary, but for people like her it's not. long story short she tries to escape to a world she's unfamilar with and finds danger and a possible first love.

These are totally different stories. I haven't seen any stories yet about a person who's hearing impared and I thought it could be something. maybe. it seemed like a good idea at first anyway. Any thoughts of how to write about a woman who's hearing- impared?

Any thoughts about any of this? please share.

Surely, if this were such a problem there would be no books out there, for all the authors would be afraid of all the other authors nicking their ideas. There are only so many stories to be written, just many variations of how to dress them up.

do you think people would want to read a story like that?
Write the story you want to write, if people want to read it it's a bonus, but write for yourself.

Any thoughts of how to write about a woman who's hearing- impared?
How about interviewing, or spending time with, the type of person you want to write about. Are there any organisations or educational facilities for people with hearing difficulties near to you? A friendly worded letter/email/telephone call never hurt anyone. The worst they can do is say no.

    Good luck.

Thanks. I didn't mean that I was wary of writing it because I didn't want other writers to take the idea.

If you expose the dirty secrets of the sex trade and human trafficking, you will be helping people by making them more aware of what really happens in the world. Men looking to set themselves up as operators in those lines of work would not likely read your book for tips on how to commit their crimes.

A word of caution: There have been many sensational stories written about the sex trade that were based solely on imagination and totally without basis in fact or experience. These fanciful stories have led to mass hysterical reactions. For instance, the Mann Act, which makes it a crime to transport a woman across state lines for immoral purposes, was enacted to combat interstate prostitution. Incidence of interstate prostitution was highly exaggerated by the news media of the day. Journalism in the late 1800s had lower standards when it came to truth and accuracy in the news. The Mann Act has rarely been used to combat prostitution. More often, the Mann Act is used by scorned wives against their philandering husbands. There was also the Jack Johnson case. In the early 20th century he was the first African-American boxing champ. He took his Caucasian wife to Georgia for a fight. While there he was prosecuted under the Mann Act because in Georgia 100 years ago, interracial marriage was considered immoral. My point is, a lot of harm can come from fiction that is too far divorced from fact, so do your research.

    Good luck with either story.
