an offer of representation based on a partial - what should I think?

Hello, I am a new author in search of representation and I have a rather urgent question:
Recently, I shot an email informing all the agents who had my full or partial manuscript about the status of my full manuscript submissions (I had quite a few out), and also to let them know about my recent win in a literary competition. One of the agents called me within an hour after I sent the email- and offered her representation right off the bat. But here is the deal- she only had my partial (3 chapters). She is a new agent with a very established agency. The contract she sent me looks pretty standard. I have about a week to think about it- and I wonder whether I should be elated that someone fell in love with my writing based on the 56 pages sample, or should I doubt her competence?
    What are your thoughts?

I'm not an expert on your situation, far from it, but if I were in your position I'd do my homework on the agency and the agent before I signed anything.

    Good luck.

The contract was drawn up by a lawyer, and whenever you are dealing with a new agent have a lawyer review the contract. Try to find a lawyer with some experience in publishing. It's all too easy to give away the cow when all you meant to do was sell a pint of cream.
