    Ratings?

I'm curious. What is, for lack of a better word, the "rating" on Young Adult stories? For instance, what sort of story is considered too graphic or too adult to be placed here? PG- PG13? R?

I've read stories that are shelved in young adult that I'd rate "R," and some I'd rate "G." It seems to be a broad category.

I just wanted to know what constitutes young adult before I posted my own work and made a terrible mistake.

    Thanks for your time!

Hmm, that's a good question. In the Rules, it says: "Erotic Material, Pornography, Obscene Material and Gratuitous Violence: Such material is not allowed. What is considered erotic, pornographic or obscene is up to staff and is not open to debate. It will be removed immediately."
If you have enough good judgment (haha, pun) to ask yourself if what you're writing is E., P., O., or G., you can probably judge for yourself. However, I'd say definitely not R. PG14 maybe?

Thanks for the help and the advice!
I saw that in the rules, I was just unsure of exactly where the line was drawn. I'll try to use my best judgment, and if I make a mistake, I'll just take my story down. No biggie!

Oh, and good to see you, too, survived the beginning of Judgment Day. Who's your avatar, by the way?

His name is "L." Well, more specifically, he's a plushie of a character named L. He's from an anime called "Death Note." It's pretty good, and on Netflix. Check it out if you have the time!

    And happy Day-After-Judgment-Day!
