Keeping your Characters and your world unique.

As you all know i am going writing stories about vampires and Fairies and i will be starting the crossover story soon. There are tons of vampire stories and fairy stories out there and so you must keep your story unique like make your own rules and so here is what i have planned to with my characters and setting.

Setting- its is very much like our world execpt it has supernatural settings and is populated with vampires, faries, werewolfs, angels, demons, and other supernatural creatures. the begiinnig stories take place in the 1400's when belief in such things is waning and will move into the modern era as for morality some characters will be evil some like Mary will be in a gray area and some good.

now lets get started on the vampires .

Origins- now how the vampires came to be is shrouded in legend and myth some believe they are desended from Lillith the first vampire or they are the Lamilya of Greek mythology. Now vampires are predominitly female that is there are no male vampires how ever there are dampyers half human and half vampire born of a human father and a vampire mother and most dampyers are male and can become full vampires if they are willing to drink their mother's blood and join the vampire's cause but most dampyre rebel and become vampire hunters. now most vampires are evil but a few like Mary try to stay on the right path but struggle with their vampric nature.

Powers- all vampires posses superhuman strength, the abilty to turn into mist, some have the power of persuiaion over men and women, some can cause plauges and famines, all can regenerate any wounds excpt if their head is cut off, they can turn women into vampires but not men they feed on both , all have the Bloodrage a beserker mode that turns them into unstopple killing machines.

Weaknesses- they can walk in the daylight but it reduces their powers , are weak aganist certain enchanted items and weabons which nullfies their regneration, certain plants like wolfsbane , can be killed by a werewolf and a vampire hunter if they let their guard down.

Dampyers posses most of the vampire powers and little of the weaknesses

Enemies- Fairies/Fae, Werewolves, Vampire hunters, and other vampires ( this is either one vampire took another vampires meal or invaded another vampires turf)

Known vampires so far-Mary, Valeria and possibly Lillith

now I let you look at my vampires and tell me what you think and do i need to add or change anything and i will post details about the faries as soon i am finished with it on paper. so enjoye

Well, if there are only three known vampires, I can't see how they'd get mad at each other for stealing prey. I mean, if it's like our planet we're talking a food ratio of hundreds of thousands, if not millions, to one.

I wouldn't hate the guy in the superstore that picked up the case of Sprite I was looking at if it was sitting on top of 30 other cases, y'know?

The portion on how vampires can't turn men, but male half-vampires can become full vampires by drinking their mother's blood seems to breed an inconsistency to me. If male half vampires can be fully turned, why can't male humans? As a reader that would nag at me until sufficiently explained.

Finally, you should have a clear origin in your mind for your vampires. Even if you're going to veil the origin from your readers, knowing the exact details as the author will not only allow you to define your "older" vampire characters more clearly and consistently, but you might even derive further story ideas from having a fully-formed backstory.

That might also help with establishing the uniqueness of your vampires, which are right now resembling other vampire stereotypes regarding powers and limitations.

sorry for dp but yeah Capulet is right on the powers but those are just the powers that all the vampires have, now vampires have spirit sight or second sight that allows them to see into the spirit realm and they also have a ablity unqiue to a certain vampire such as the ablity to control elemental magic like fire, ice, earth and lighting.
