    Spelling Question

Hi, everyone. I have a general spelling/grammar question. Sorry if this is the wrong place for this but I'm brand new here. I was wondering if there was a proper spelling of the term "look-see". Would that be the proper spelling? Or would it be "looksy"? Thanks.

Look-see is the technically correct one while looksy is more slangy. Unless you're going for a slangy, informal tone, I'd go with look-see.

I feel like they're derived differently. "look-see" from "look" + "see", and "looksy" from "look" + "sy"(which is a dimunitive suffix).

Either one is fine, I guess, but I agree with caelum that "looksy" is more slangy/informal.

Note that people sometimes also use looksie, but chances are look-see is the better choice. It's like, let's look and see what's available.

I quite like 'looksie' as stated above, I would probably use that one if it was me.
