Thread: HELP: Scene idea???

So I'm having major writer's block.....

I need a scene/accident idea that would cause my protagonist it hit her head, causing skull to crack and internal bleeding to the brain. It has to be an accident, falling, car crash, bike accident, ect. The girl is in 8th grade. There is a guy with her as well, who wouldn't get hurt. I know the out coming of the injury, I just can't think for the life of me, how she gets it. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Hmm... Get pushed backwards and fall over onto a ceramic plant pot? Happened to a friend of mine back in like, yr 5 or something. He didn't get internal bleeding but he did crack his skull. Could probably get it from diving into the shallow end of a pool too.

You've already come up with some generally plausible ideas.

Sit down. Brainstorm a bunch more shit. Cull. Tweak. Massage. Work.

It will be far more satisfying to come up with ideas yourself rather than just asking a bunch of random people on a writing forum. Besides, brainstorming can be one of the most enjoyable aspects of writing. That and editing.

But I'm a masochist.

How about falling backwards off a swingset? Happened to me when I was little. I didn't hurt myself badly but ocassionally I'll blurble clarble peeble warg...

Whatever you come up with, make sure it progresses naturally from the situation. Don't force the accident.

8th grade. Maybe they're waiting for the bus after school, it's taking too long so they decide to walk home instead, take a shortcut through an abandoned building, she falls through a weak spot on the floor.
