A general corruption in an originally clean writing style?

Hey, so originally in my time writing as a hobby, my writing was clean and moderately not violent...that was the past. My writings definitely gotten more dark and...not sadistic, but I definitely do take death lightly.

And...it's not like this is a bad thing. I am who I am. But is there anything wrong with the changing trend in writing? Because this could happen again, as my mind corrupts more and my mind become darker...so is an inconsistently shaded (light hearted/dark) novel bad?

It's not the style that makes the novel, dark, light or shaded.

Don't assume that future changes will take the same direction previous ones did, be prepared for tangents.

Remember that your novel is a product of your mind. You go through several changes, mood swings, and other things over the course of your life. This will heavily influence your writing. Regardless, write what you wish, not what you feel you must.

I think a tone shift would be cool. Lull them into a sense of security and the BAM, hit them with the blood and guts. Hard to say how it would work without reading it.
Let's see if my above post is deleted without explanation. Wouldn't be the first time.
