What are some things my female lead can accomplish that can help her be noteworthy

    Noteworthy and recognizable that is.

And it can't deal with sports because the male lead is a sports star who becomes jealous of the female lead. The female lead is a tall, beautiful asthmatic who is good with kids and can sing and swim. She is a college student that has done musicals and is part of a techno music group. Is there anything she can do that can help her be noteworthy and recognizable? If you can offer suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

One of my struggles is relating to people whose passions aren't sports or following sports. I'd like this character to be a character that isn't into sports too much but rather other passions.

Ok, just off the top of my head, no throwing stones, I'm just winging it. In order for the male lead who is a sports star and used to the limelight to be jealous, she has to accomplish something outstanding that throws her into the spotlight instead of him. Something unexpected, unplanned and spontaneous. You mentioned that she is good with kids, that means that she cares about them. She can also swim well. So, she is on her way to her class on a very cold morning. A car slides off the highway and into the frozen river. People get out of their cars and rush to the shore. A news crew is there just happening to do a story on the slick roads with a camera so it is all caught on film. A woman and a child struggle to get out of the car. The woman hangs on but the child loses her grip and is being swept away with the current. The men present hesitate to jump into the freezing water, but not her. She dives in and saves the child, struggling back through the chunks of ice to the shore.

Noteworthy, recognizable and suddenly she is the star, not him. When they appear in public, the cameras and questions now focus on her. She cannot be blamed, but still it just irks him that she is now the star.

If you chose to go this route, you could spin off of it. Through her new found celebrity status her techno band is discovered, a possible record deal? But, with the money she now makes that rivals his, she is able to pursue her other goals of helping children in need, perhaps children with special needs.

Are you talking to me? If so, sure. As I said, it was the first thing that came to my mind. I tend to write from an action/adventure standpoint though as you can see. A person handling new found fame that they didn't try to achieve, then trying to balance that in a relationship where the other has an ego and is jealous is a great start though, in my opinion.

Maybe being a paramedic/firefighter all of my adult life slants the way that I look at things. I always (and still do) carry a towel behind my truck seat just in case I have to jump into cold water or stand in the rain working a wreck. I never just drove, I watched the mile markers so I could call in for backup if I came upon an accident. I used to carry a huge jump bag and a ventilator with an oxygen bottle, the vent would force breath into a person's lungs after I intubated them so I was free to do CPR. We recently moved so the truck has been tied up with other things, but the jump bag will go back in there once the smoke clears.
