    Getting over a dry spell

It's been about two weeks since I have written anything of substance. This is a problem because I'm in the middle of writing a serial novel. My (admittedly narrow) reader base has been wondering if I'm still alive, and I'm still no closer to posting an update. So tell me forum, how do you get out of a writing slump?

I'm going to be brutally honest with you here, because I think it's important. I don't know how many similar questions have been posted on this and other forums, and the reality is that there's no answer for your problem. No magic cure or panacea that will suddenly make you start writing again. In my humble opinion, the only way you get out of a "writing slump" is by writing. You sit down behind a keyboard and force yourself to write. Sooner or later, you'll come on the good stuff and your slump will be no more.

Vangoghseer once said he sat down and made himself write for ten minutes a day, if that was all he could manage, so be it, but he soon found himself getting involved and the time expanding. I found it good advice that worked for me when I lost motivation.
