Thread: Please help

Hello everyone,

I want your help in my essay..I'm writing an essay about the play "a doll's house" written by Henrik Ibsen..I want to write about the social issues in this play but the problem is I don't know how can i orgnize my essay ..I mean I want to do the outline but really don't know what can i write... i think "the social issues" is very general topic and i want it to be specific.. Could anyone help me??

I just googled A Doll's House, and it looks an interesting play. I don't know when you need the essay for.

As it was written over a century ago and concerns mostly, from what I can gather, the (now old fashioned, or non religeous) attitudes to marriage and the second-class stature of women, I would open your essay with your take on this. Perhaps an opening two or three short paragraphs, depending on how long the essay will be.

After this, you can go into more detail highlighting parts of the play that confirm your understanding that you've shown in your opening paragraph. You can then end with your conclusions on femininity and marriage that you've seen highlighted in the play.

This is more a query from me than advice. I don't know much about essays.
