Question Too delicate of a subject?

In my novel, I am attempting to describe the afterlife. I have developed a place known only as 'Judgement'. It is a place where sinners live in confusion with demons and angels alike. Its residents are fitted with the purpose of redeeming themselves and correcting the wrongs of their life to pass on. Is death too delicate of a subject?

Sho, yu da joke. (Certainly you must be joking.) Death is one of the most common subjects in literature. So much Latin American literature, and Caribbean too for that matter, has death or dying as a principal or secondary theme that I'm sitting here trying to think of a popular novel that does not include death itself, or dying, the threat of dying, thoughts about death, life after death, or some other aspect of death. For a good treatise on death in an English language novel, read William Faulkner's 'As I Lay Dying'.

Write your book and do not be afraid of touching the subject of death and do not be afraid of speculations about what happens after death.

That's what makes writing amazing and wonderful. It's about putting your creativity to work and taking it where ever. I am currently writing a piece about suicide, which in personal opinion is a harsh subject and rather delicate. However, I lost my dad to suicide two years ago and I feel that writing about it and turning it into a fiction and getting the story out there is important. At least to me. I would love to read what you have and give you some critiques, if you're interested you can PM me. I'm always looking for people to exchange writing ideas or pieces.

Just take it where ever. The world of writing is about taking risks and putting stuff out there. Don't be afraid to hurt people's feelings by creating an afterlife scenario. To me, it sounds very interesting.

Death is one of the greatest subjects in the human language. Many masterpieces feature death as a major theme. So writing a book about death automatically makes your story a little deep. Congrats!

I once attempted to recreate "afterlife" myself. Here's an excerpt from my work:

Yeah, probably none of you will be able to understand it but the story is like... the boy died and he is talking to this "someone" from the after life that is supposed to be his guide. In my version of the afterlife, it's just nothingness. You're like in a computer where you can see everything. From the Nagra falls to Mt. Apo but they're not real. And when the monitor is off, so is everything you see. It's kinda confusing, really.

What happened in the story is that the boy died. He didn't know how long he was dead since the guy he was speaking to wing tell it to him. Then he asked on how are his loved ones after he died. The guy played an image of some of his love ones suffering, one even died. After that, he felt a sudden rush of emotions BUT he couldn't cry. Why? Cause he's dead. He has no eyes to cry nor mouth to scream. So as a final with, he said "Pwede mo ba akong bigyan ng katawan. Gusto ko lang umiyak." or in english: "Please give me a body, I just want to cry."

Sorry for those unnecessary things. I'm new to this forum and I'm still adjusting to things.
