    Question Writing puzzles

    Dear all,
I have some puzzles about my English writing. I need to write a paragraph about living condition in a big city, but I don't have enough ideas to support the whole paragraph. Could someone give me some good opinions or your comments about the big city's living condition. What do you think the pros and cons about city life; do you think that city's quality is really better than living in the countryside; are there any bad events that harass you the most. Thanks for your answer.

What kind of city are you talking about? What kind of economic viewpoint do you want to have? Take Bangkok, a sprawling mass of ugliness, poverty, crime, disease, or a cultural capital filled with beauty where all that is modern and conveinent sits side by side with ancient buildings that are in themselves priceless works of art. The fact is it's both.

The quality of life in any big city can be anything you want it to be if you have enough money. For the very poor there is no quality at all; life for them is a desperate struggle to survive.

The poor family in a rural village have the option of becoming largely self sufficient, substituting labour for money and improving their quality of life themselves. That choice is often not available for the poor person in the city who must seek work as a daily wage earner with little or no prospect that hard work will lead anywhere but to years of more hard work.

Before I can offer you anything of value I need to know more about the kind of city and the kind of person you have in mind.

It is an opinion question, no one answer can suffice. If you need help with writing it, choose one city and one rural area you are familiar with and compare them. Each large city has their own "vibe" and culture, so you can't think of them all as the same thing. New York City and Tokyo may be similar, but if you compare NYC to Dubai or Mexico City there are very noticible differences. You need to pick one.

It might just be confirmation bias, but sometimes I hear the sound of the city in certain pieces of music, especially in messy avant-garde jazz and progressive rock. The complex hum of city traffic and people talking over each other in huge masses echoing across the skyscrapers seems too overpowering to not have a substantial influence. This complexity always left me feeling that the city represented possibility and potential, while the countryside was there to provide focus and reassurance. It's possible I just get all this from being bored in the suburbs, but I like the idea of the Doppler effect influencing a horn section and harmonious folk music emerging from the silence of farmland.
Justified procrastination is the main thing busy people have that lazy people want.
